smashing pumpkins

Aunt Anna helped me carve my pumpkins tonight! These are the pumpkins that Saba and Savta got for me at the pumpkin patch when they were here. We made a cute girl jack-o-lantern with long eyelashes like me! I wore my pumpkin carving hat that Grandma sent me.

Please Baby Please

For story time tonight I decided to read a couple of my favorite books: "Please Baby Please" (written by Spike Lee & his wife) and "The Very Dizzy Dinosaurs" by some guy with the silly nom de plume Jack Tickle. Normally, Dad reads the books to me but tonight I gave it a try on my own:

The return of Lisa & Laura

Mom and I met up with Lisa, Laura and Heather (Laura's cousin visiting from Seattle). Heather is 6 months pregnant, so I tried to give her some tips. Laura let me suck on some pieces of watermelon from her fruit salad! It was so good. I don't know why Mom and Dad have been giving me peas and carrots and holding out on the watermelon!

blogging

I'm hard at work on an update to catch up on the news and pictures from the past week. I'll get them up soon. I promise!

week in review

Happy Birthday Savta!

A sneak preview of my Halloween costume. I'm going to be the Glitter Witch.

Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Angie are having a baby soon. In the meantime, they've been practicing their child care techniques on me.

Playing with one of the cool toys my Savta and Saba got me!

I enjoyed some carrots this week!

family weekend!

Saba and Savta came back to visit this weekend! An d they brought lots of great presents! We've been having a lot of fun spending time together and playing. Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Angie have been with us too. Last night the 4 of them babysat me while Mom and Dad went to a wedding.

Yesterday afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch. I got to see lots of kids, some animals in the petting zoo and some scary sights. We bought some pumpkins too.

play day

Had a really fun day today. Dad went out and got some bubbles from gymboree and Mom made sure the house was filled with them. I also got to play in my exersaucer!

Miss Independent

Ha! I can feed myself! Dad sat me down for dinner tonight but left me alone for just a second to go get a bib. Big mistake! I reached over, grabbed my bowl and spoon and went to town! No need to wait for him or Mom to do it for me.

going to the doctor

Here are some pictures from my trip to the doctor last Friday:

Since the fish are behind the glass and out of my reach, I'll settle for eating this block instead.

Mom and Dad really need to get some of this crinkly paper for me to play with at home.

Dad does his best to comfort me while I get my shots. If he really wanted to make me feel better, he'd let the nurse stick him with the needles instead.

Back at home relaxing.

goodbye grandma suarez

Today was a busy day. After my morning nap, we drove out to the Valley to go to Babies R Us. Dad drove Beverly Glen over the hills and there were a lot of trees for me to look at. Nice. We loaded up on all kinds of stuff at the store, then went next door to have lunch at In N Out. After lunch we went to Burbank to drop Grandma Suarez off at the airport. I'll miss her - we had a nice visit.

Tonight I got to try sweet potatoes for the first time. They have quickly become my Favorite Food of All-Time! Mom and Dad make my food from scratch and they did it perfectly this time. They baked the sweet potatoes last night, then Grandma helped puree them and put them in special ice cube trays to freeze. They thawed them this afternoon, mixed them up with a little milk and...voila' - an instant classic.

Shopping!

Just us girls went to the mall at Century City today for some retail therapy. My Grandma bought me some more cool stuff and they even qualified me for my own credit card at Bloomingdales! Presents on me!

Eating

Here is some video of me eating from the past week, including footage of my very first bites of solid food from last Saturday. I'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly. I'll be ordering pizzas in no time.

Nurse Suarez & Dr. Raker

My Grandma Suarez came to visit me again! She was here to surprise me when I woke up this morning! She came bearing lots of gifts - toys, spoons, bibs and a teething ring to chew on.

Today we went to see Dr. Raker for my 6 month checkup and get my next batch of shots. Since I was already going to get stuck with needles anyway, we decided that I'd get a flu shot today as well. It's probably a good idea because I go to school with some kids that seem to get sick rather often. Better safe than sorry.

I tried mashed avocado for the first time today. It was ok - I've become so fond of rice cereal that it might take me a minute to get into the avocadoes. My dad had never had avocado so he tried a little bite, too. Nice to see him expand his horizons.

Here are my current stats:
Weight: 16.5 lbs. / 59th percentile (up from 15.5/71% a month ago)
Height: 27" / 88% (25.5"/75%)
Head Circ: 43cm / 64% (42cm/63%)

Happy Birthday to me!

Guess how many months old I am?

Breakfast

Today I sat down with Mom and Dad to eat breakfast for the first time. It must have been a special occasion because I've never seen them eat at the table before. I had the rice cereal with milk. It was OK, but I preferred the taste of my purple plastic spoon. I wonder when I'll get to try coffee with my meal?

BEFORE

AFTER

I was a little bit of a mess after eating so I had to change my clothes. But then I got to play with Mom! Good times.
